NEW LIFE RADIO International is the parent and sponsor of New Life Radio in Odessa, and depends on monthly financial partners to keep Christian radio on the air
Our History: New Life Radio started its ministry as Russia’s first Christian FM radio station (1996), and in 2000, pioneered Christian satellite radio for the former USSR; later (2006) introducing domestic Christian Internet radio at www.NLRadio.net. NLR moved its operations center from Moscow to Odessa in 2019.
TODAY, we are reaching both Russian and Ukrainian speakers globally, using multiple media formats used by our audience target of 18-45 year olds. NLR serves as a Seminary on the Air providing critical teaching resources to build the Church. As with Russia, Ukraine needs Christian radio, and the role of NLR to teach the Scriptures locally using the very finest Bible teachers, is ever more important.
NLRI encourages a diversity of the Christian community to utilize our network for delivering sound Scriptural content, without promoting their particular denominational perspectives or doctrinal distinctives. Everything on the air conforms to what the Scriptures state. NLRI’s fundraising goal each month seeks to provide for the entire global operation we have, including facilities, staff, satellite, Internet distribution, and other components of this unique ministry. The cost is equivalent to supporting two or three American missionary families to Russia each year! We work to keep our expenses low and outreach potential HIGH!
NLR is commercial-free with 100% Christian content in word and song. There are no paid programs, no on air requests for funding, no selling or ministry fundraising requests, and all airtime is given away free to qualified domestic Christian producers. Our mission subsidizes this resource for the evangelical Church that cannot afford its own radio stations inside of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and former Soviet republics. 98% of communities in Russia and 97% in Ukraine have NO local evangelical Christian radio station which is why NLR’s outreach is so vital!
NLRI’s typical donors are Christians in the USA who invest in the proclamation of the Gospel on a global basis, and are concerned that young people across the former Soviet Union have access to Christian programming, where Christian content is absent on the many domestic secular channels available to them. NEW LIFE RADIO is a partnership between believers for the purpose of sharing the Gospel and reaching listeners for Christ.
